2023-2024 - Mr. Emmanuel Ross

• October 2023: Mr. Emmanuel Ross, Music Teacher and Band Director, was chosen as the PRHS Teacher of the Year for 2023-2024.

2022-2023 - Mr. Tyler Beard

• October 2022: Mr. Tyler Beard, Social Studies/English teacher, was chosen as the PRHS Teacher of the Year for 2022-2023. Mr. Beard is a PRHS alumnus.

2021-2022 - Ms. Rachel Lukasik

• October 2021: Ms. Rachel Lukasik, English/Language Arts teacher, was chosen as the PRHS Teacher of the Year for 2021-2022.

2020-2021 - Mrs. Stephanie Ruggiero

• October 2020: Mrs. Stephanie Ruggiero, Math teacher, was chosen as the PRHS Teacher of the Year for 2020-2021.

2019-2020 - Mr. Justin Leath

• October 2019: Mr. Justin Leath, Social Studies teacher, was chosen as the PRHS Teacher of the Year for 2019-2020. Mr. Leath is a PRHS alumnus.

2018-2019 - Ms. Gabriela Grello

• October 2018: Ms. Gabriela Grello, Spanish teacher, was chosen as the PRHS Teacher of the Year for 2018-2019.

2017-2018 - Mrs. Colleen Johnson

• October 2017: Mrs. Colleen Johnson, Math teacher, was chosen as the PRHS Teacher of the Year for 2017-2018.

2016-2017 - Mr. Ron Ladimir

• October 2016: Mr. Ron Ladimir, Math teacher, was chosen as the PRHS Teacher of the Year for 2016-2017.

2015-2016 - Mrs. Amanda McDevitt

• October 2011: Mrs. Jessica Briggs, Drama teacher, was chosen as the PRHS Teacher of the Year for 2012-2013.

2011-2012 - Mr. Michael Hertz

• October 2010: Mr. Michael Hertz, English teacher and Student Council sponsor, was chosen as the PRHS Teacher of the Year for 2011-2012.

2010-2011- Mrs. Juliet Kasler

• October 2009: Mrs. Juliet Kasler, Latin and English teacher, was chosen as the PRHS Teacher of the Year for 2010-2011.

2009-2010 - Mr. Dan Korn

• April 2009: Mr. Korn was a finalist for Union County Teacher of the Year.
• October 2008: Mr. Daniel Korn, Social Studies teacher, was chosen as the PRHS Teacher of the Year for 2009-2010. Mr. Korn teaches US History, AP US History and the Civil War at Porter Ridge High School.

2008-2009 - Mrs. Jessica Garner

• October 2007: Mrs. Jessica Garner, Spanish Teacher, was chosen as the PRHS Teacher of the Year for the 2008-2009 school year.
• April 2008: Mrs. Garner was named the Union County Public Schools Teacher of the Year.
• January 2009: Mrs. Garner was named the Southwest Region Teacher of the Year and contended among eight other regional winners to take the state title.
• May 5, 2009: Mrs. Jessica Garner, Spanish Teacher at Porter Ridge High, has been named the North Carolina AT&T Teacher of the Year for 2009-2010. For the 2009-2010 school year, Mrs. Garner will be traveling around the state leading workshops and speaking to groups of teachers, students, and other North Carolinians. During this year, Mrs. Garner will be out of the classroom and her office will be at Poplin Elementary.

2007-2008 - Ms. Jennie Yearick

• October 2006: Ms. Jennie Yearick, Mathematics teacher, was chosen as the 2007-2008 PRHS Teacher of the year.

2006-2007 - Ms. April Butcher

• Ms. Butcher was a media specialist and taught media production at Porter Ridge High School until June of 2007.
