Participation in UCPS Driver Education requires a registration and payment of $65. Registration for a class opens at 8:00 a.m. on a designated date (payments received prior to 8 a.m. on the opening day of registration will be invalid and subsequently refunded). The next DE Course registration opens May 12, 2025 and will close on May 20, 2025 OR when the site/school reaches capacity.    

Registration Is A Multi-Step Process

Step 1- Pay:

Begin by paying for the online course via the link below to Online School Payment (OSP). After paying $65 through OSP for Driver Education, you will be given an order number. If you don't see payment options available for your school site, no more seats are available this month. NON-UCPS Students-Use the name of the school instead of the student id number when paying for the course.

Step 2- Register:

Return here to register. You should receive two emails: one confirming payment and one confirming registration. You must have an online order number from where you paid to complete the registration.

If you do not receive an email confirming registration in the Driver Education course, you are not registered AND you should immediately email driver.ed@ucps.k12.nc.us. 

Registration Limits

Enrollment for the online course may be limited due to the number of students waiting for the Behind the Wheel (BTW) portion of Driver Education.

• Students that attend a Union County Public School may only register for the Driver Education course for the school they are enrolled in and attending (e.g. a student enrolled at SVHS may only register and take Driver Education through Sun Valley High School).
• Students who attend a private, charter, or home school registered in Union County may only pay for other (UA/home school/private/charter). When registering, when asked if a UCPS student, select "no" for other options.
• If your school/site has reached registration capacity, another school/site cannot be chosen. If your school is no longer listed for registration or payment platforms, capacity has been reached.
